Canadian Screen Award winner, Thom Allison, is one of Canada’s most beloved and respected artists.  As an actor, singer, director, teacher, and writer, Thom has been nominated for 2 Canadian Screen Awards, as well as almost every theatre award across Canada - 3 Dora Mavor Moore Awards, 2 Betty Mitchell Awards, 2 Jesse Richardson Awards, 2 Sterling Awards and an Ovation Award. His 43 years in the business has offered him so many opportunities to hone his crafts and share his joy from Broadway to London, England to Taipei, Taiwan.

As a director, Thom is a passionate storyteller who has quickly become known for getting to the deeper emotional world at the centre of the stories he tells.  Finding deeper resonances in well-known pieces is a particular passion for him.  But moving, human connection is at the heart all of his work.  As a Black artist, Thom is always fascinated by how a show/story/storyline opens up when casting is inclusive of many different experiences - culturally, physically, gender-expressively, etc. - and he is always excited to find unexpected ways to illuminate stories.
